SECURE

SAFE CORE

Security culture

Adopting a shared Security Culture means having a common vision, a uniform attitude and behavior towards IT security, depending on the role played within the company.

Companies must address cybersecurity as a crucial issue to increase their competitiveness in an increasingly digitalized and interconnected world. Similarly, Cybersecurity must be considered a fundamental aspect, which affects every level of the organization and in which each individual has a specific role to play.

What is the SECURE path

The SECURE cultural transformation path originates from the People-Centric approach that Safecore has towards Cybersecurity. This approach is based on the assumption that the human factor must be placed at the heart of the IT security challenge: every person, at any company level, plays an essential role in the internal security implementation process. Processes and technologies therefore become reinforcing tools, aimed at implementing the effectiveness of the entire system and not absolute protagonists, as too often happens.

Therefore SECURE has the objective of increasing internal responsibility and resilience against cyber threats, with a lasting effect, transforming the culture of cyber security within the company and towards the entire ecosystem made up of customers and suppliers.

The 5 phases of the SECURE path

The SECURE process is structured in a cycle of 5 macro phases:

Analysis of IT security in the company environment, carried out through two main processes:

  • The distribution of a Security Culture Survey to all employees, to identify the degree of awareness and knowledge of IT risks, providing a general vision of how security is perceived and practiced by staff;
  • A Security Assessment, which through interviews and technical checks determines the level of security management within the company.

These are one or more meetings dedicated to sharing the results collected in the previous phase. The aim is to increase awareness among company employees regarding cyber dangers and risks, using real examples and employing gamification techniques to convey the message in a more effective and engaging way for participants.

This phase aims to provide the necessary skills to best deal with cyber risk. Therefore, specific training activities are proposed which aim to keep the level of attention to the problem high and to recognize the threats that arise.

In response to the actual risks identified in the previous assessment phases, this phase involves the implementation of tools and processes to strengthen corporate security. This includes the adoption of advanced security technologies, vulnerability management and threat intelligence services, with recurring checks to periodically identify new vulnerabilities.

This last phase has the objective of monitoring the effectiveness of the actions undertaken and at the same time, further risk situations that have not yet been corrected or not previously detected are analysed.

The temporal development of the SECURE path

The SECURE path is shown below in its temporal development assuming, in this example, the duration of one year.

The SECURE path

Safecore places great emphasis on Culture as a key tool to combat cyber risks. Accordingly, the SECURE program aims to develop greater internal accountability and resilience against cyber threats, with a long-term impact. The goal is to transform the culture of cybersecurity within the company and extend it to the entire ecosystem of customers and suppliers.
